Welcome to my official web site. My name is Chris Casello and I've been playing music almost all my life. I currently live in Nashville TN. But my home was Ann Arbor, Michigan ( Big Ten university town just 30 miles west of Detroit).

I play guitar primarily but in the last decade started playing steel guitar. I have a beautiful wife and son.

I love all styles of guitar music and can play most of them well. I often get pegged as rockabilly , but I have no tattoos - just good hair and I love roots music. My favorite guitars are Teles and hollow bodies, I like the early Fender non-pedal steels and I have a Bake-lite seven string Rickenbacker.

I love swing, blues, traditional country, western swing, Hawaiian, jump, honky tonk and Rhythm and Blues.

I like funk and jazz in the early days, some be-bop and, let's face it, fifties jazz rules.

I dig classic rock, garage rock, surf, Stooges and The MC5 are my "punk" tastes. I even like folk and, yes, rockabilly.

I front my own group The Chris Casello Trio with Mark W. Winchester and Jimmy Lester. I play with Brazilbilly at Robert's Western World. I recently have had many trips abroad with Carlene Carter and Johnny Powers.

I have also been currently working Moot Davis and David Ball.

I sing and play steel and guitar often on the same number, mixed with a large degree of theatrical enthusiasm.

My favorite guitarist are Charlie Christian, Les Paul, Merle Travis, Jimmy Bryant, Barney Kessel, Chet Atkins, Hank Garland, James Burton, Scotty Moore, T Bone Walker, Magic Sam, Duane Eddy, The Ventures, Grady Martin, Roy Nichols, Gene Moles, Dick Dale, Albert King Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Freddie Green, Tiny Grimes, Eldon Shamblin, Wes Montgomery, Jerry Reed, Doc Watson, Danny Gatton.

I enjoy Jimmy Page, Billy Gibbons, Jimi, Peter Green, Dave Edmunds, Ted Nugent (hey, I'm from the Detroit area).

I like Bill Kirchen, Deke Dickerson, Dave Biller, Red Volkert, Brent Mason, Kenny Vaughan, Albert Lee, Guthrie Trapp ...some of the many contemporary players I have the pleasure to have met and played with I admire.

I also like Drew Howard AKA Captain Midnight ...web master.

My favorite Steel players are the non pedal guys first, Jerry Byrd, Roy Wiggins, Don Helms, Vance Terry, Leon Mcauliffe, Herb Remington, Don Helms, Speedy West, Joaquin Murphey.

My successful group the Starlight Drifters toured the USA in a van 1998 - 2005. Playing many festivals and clubs. We also landed several songs in motion pictures Honors included appearing on WSM , The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and New York's Lincoln Center. Our Rollin' Rock CD has just been re- released in Sweden on the Scana label.
